The Power of Education:

How Understanding Your Body Can Be the First Step Toward Bladder Healing

· My Approach

One of the foundational principles of naturopathic medicine is Docere—a Latin word meaning “to teach.” In fact, the word doctor itself comes from this root. As a naturopathic doctor and acupuncturist, I’ve always believed that my role is not just to treat symptoms, but to empower my patients through knowledge, self-awareness, and actionable steps they can take to reclaim their health.

This belief is at the heart of my program, 12 Weeks to a Happy Bladder. Designed specifically for women struggling with interstitial cystitis (IC), the course weaves together science-backed information with practical tools for healing—offering education that doesn’t just inform, but transforms.

Many people living with IC feel lost in a sea of conflicting advice, isolated by their symptoms, or frustrated by treatments that don’t address the root cause. That’s why I begin the program by helping participants understand what interstitial cystitis is and why their symptoms are happening. From there, I teach them how to track their own patterns, identify potential triggers, and use food, supplements, movement, breathwork, nervous system and pelvic floor retraining to start healing from the inside out.

Because when you understand your body, you stop fearing it—and that changes everything.

Education is the bridge between fear and empowerment. And once a woman understands how her bladder, pelvic floor, and nervous system all work together, she no longer feels at the mercy of her symptoms—she becomes the leader of her healing journey.

The power of education is the power to heal. And that’s exactly what my 12-week Happy Bladder Program was designed to deliver.
